In addition to homestead exemption, Florida offers personal property tax exemptions for qualified applicants that are available upon request. Below are property tax exemptions available for qualified applicants that are available upon request.  Applications for these property tax exemptions are due to our office by March 1 of the applicable tax year.

In order to apply for this exemption, you must identify yourself as widowed on your homestead application or provide a copy of your late spouse’s death certificate

 Limited income and hemiplegic, paraplegic, wheelchair required, or legally blind (totally exempt)

In order to apply for this exemption, you must provide (2) non-affiliated Florida physician certification forms (DR-416), a DR-501A, as well as proof of prior years’ total household income. *If legally blind, you may provide DR-416B forms in place of DR-416 forms. Military & First Responder Exemptions

In order to apply for this exemption, you must provide a First Responder Employer’s Certification of Injury, as well as an incident report, a First Responder Physicians Certificate of Total & Permanent Disability and proof of SSDI, if eligible. If ineligible, please provide (2) First Responder Physicians Certificate of Total & Permanent Disability.

In order to apply for this exemption, you must provide a DR-501DV and a letter from the Veteran’s Administration attesting to combat-related disability(s). The PR-SSDISVT is a recommended form.
